GOC denies schedule for expanded Georgian Orthodox Church Council to be considered today
The Public Relations Service of the Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC) has confirmed that no date has been set for an expanded council today.
According to the Patriarchate’s statement, no special meeting is planned for today; the day’s agenda remains a standard working day.
“In light of rumours and unfounded reports circulating in the media, we wish to clarify that no special gathering of the members of the Holy Synod is scheduled at the Patriarchate of Georgia today. The usual programme is in place, and no date has been set for an expanded council of the Georgian Orthodox Church,” the statement from the Patriarchate’s Public Relations Service reads.
