There are no preconditions and grounds for increasing the tariff for telecommunication services to subscribers, – Georgian National Communications Commission released the regarding information.

As it is noted in the statement, National Communications Commission has immediately started to study the issue on the basis of the statement made by Magticom and Silknet companies.

The Commission will examine the appropriateness of the simultaneous change of tariffs by two operators having significant influence.

The National Communications Commission calls on both operators to suspend making changes in the tariffs until the issue is fully studied.

In addition, we emphasize that the Commission has all legal tools to make the strictest response to the unjustified decisions made by the companies, “- the GNCC statement reads.

The service tariff for part of subscribers of “Geocell”, “Silknet” and “Magti” is planned to be increased. Magti’s renewed tariff will be launched from February 18,  and “Geocell” and “Silknet” from March 1.
