“In my opinion, the wording of this letter did not correspond to the style of Nika Melia. This metaphorical, poetic style was more of Nika Gvaramia. I am not the only one who thinks so,” said Iago Khvichia, leader of the Girchi party.

According to Khvichia, Nika Melia and Mikheil Saakashvili have always had disagreements with each other.

“However, nobody brings this issue to an end. Mikheil Saakashvili begins exposing, but stops at some point. Nika Melia so explicitly expressed his negative attitude toward Saakashvili that I am astonished at preserving the unity by the ‘alliance’ for the time being. Similar statements should dissolve the ‘Alliance’, but it does not split.

I think it has to do with minor internal disagreements within the UNM that we have often witnessed. I urge the parties to be more explicit and frank. If the ‘Alliance’ is to be dissolved, and it really should dissolve, it is better to dissolve it in time than to continue in a conflict situation for a long time,” he said.

On May 29, Nika Melia, one of the leaders of Coalition for Change, published a letter where he says: Wherever Saakashvili is, the country’s interest is absent; he is unhealthily infatuated with himself, ‘pregnant with his own ego.”
