Girchi's Khvichia believes polarization rhetoric entails no imminent revolution

“Making assertions about polarization does not automatically imply revolution. This entails drawing attention to the people who feel they can orchestrate revolutions,” Iago Khvichia, the Girchi party’s leader, stated.

The MP reiterated the statement of Girchi-For More Freedom leader Zurab Japaridze, who stated that “polarization is the appropriate way to create the second powerful pole.”

According to Iago Khvichia, Zurab Japaridze is hardly an exception among some political forces that have chosen radicalization. This “legitimate goal” is to consolidate opposition votes in order to surpass the 5% electoral barrier.

“Polarization may be effective for the goals of political parties. However, I am sceptical that such a revolutionary charge would result in early elections or a change of government,” Iago Khvichia said.
