Giorgi Vashadze's case sent to prosecutor's office over no-show at investigative commission

The case of Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office due to his failure to attend a meeting of the parliamentary interim investigative commission studying the activities of the government from 2003 to 2012.

Tea Tsulukiani, the chairperson of the commission, announced the issue before a vote. She stated that Vashadze had been notified to attend the meeting at 10 a.m.

“Giorgi Vashadze was informed that he was required to be present at today’s commission meeting at 10 a.m., but he failed to appear. Consequently, we will refer his case for an alleged violation of Article 349 of the Criminal Code to the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia,” she explained before the vote.
