“Applications have officially opened for participation in the micro and small business support programme,” Tbilisi Mayor Kaladze announced during a meeting of the Tbilisi City Municipal Government.

According to the Mayor, the submission process will remain open until 12 November.

“Supporting micro and small businesses is a key priority for Tbilisi City Hall. We aim to assist local entrepreneurs, strengthen their operations, and generate more opportunities for business growth. Under the micro and small business support programme, the third application phase begins today and will run through to 12 November,” Kakha Kaladze stated.

He added that the initiative, launched last year, has already funded 80 entrepreneurs.

“This year, both the programme’s total budget and the maximum funding limit per beneficiary have been increased. While last year the maximum grant stood at GEL 20,000, this year the limit has risen to GEL 50,000. This provides entrepreneurs with the means to acquire essential machinery and equipment, improve product quality, and expand their production scale,” the Mayor of Tbilisi noted.

The scheme’s terms have also been expanded: whereas previous rounds were open only to businesses with an annual turnover of up to 500,000 lari, those with a turnover of up to 1 million lari are now eligible. Under the scheme, City Hall co-funds between 70% and 90% of the amount requested.

The programme is open to registered micro- and small businesses in Tbilisi that want to buy equipment and machinery for their work.
