Giorgi Margvelashvili made changes into decree on inauguration of president
Georgia’s outgoing President Giorgi Margvelashvili made changes to the decree, which determines the rule of inauguration of the President of Georgia.
According to the presidential administration, the amendments “reflect the current constitutional reality”. The amendments will be published on the Legislative Herald at the end of the day.
The administration does not specify what was amended in the decree, but reportedly Margvelashvili defined the role of the outgoing president in the inauguration ceremony; changes were made to the list of attendees as well.
The role of the outgoing president in the inauguration ceremony had not been defined up to now. “This change is the continuation of a first precedent when the outgoing president is transferring power to a new president in a civilized way,”- President’s Secretary Ana Natsvlishvili said.
