Giorgi Gvarakidze: Whether senior or junior, anyone who commits a crime will be held to account

“It does not matter whether an individual is a senior official or a junior employee; anyone who commits an offence will be held fully to account,” Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze has stated.

The Prosecutor General made this remark when questioned by journalists regarding the ongoing crackdown on corruption, adding that he could not disclose specifics at this stage for operational reasons.

“There are currently numerous ongoing investigations by both the Prosecutor’s Office and our other supervisory and regulatory bodies. The fight against corruption was our core priority in 2025 and will remain so throughout 2026. You will learn of the specific outcomes as we take further legal steps.
