“Regrettably, today the Georgian Dream has as many supporters as it does not deserve, and this is the fault of each of us,” declared Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, during the party congress.
According to Gakharia, many people lack a clear understanding that the Georgian Dream is not the political force genuinely fighting for dignity and justice.
“This is a force that exists on the foundation of injustice, violence, and corruption. It has become a force devoid of moral values, maintaining control of the government simply because it is stronger. Democracy is impossible in a country plagued by social injustice,” he emphasized.
Gakharia expressed the need to address the issues of radicalization and polarization.
“We are divided into two poles. One claims it is solely national as if it has privatized the concept of nationality, stripping each of us of our right to identify as such. It promotes a distorted view of family values, often held by those far removed from them. The other pole insists that only they are truly European. This division is unacceptable. For those who believe Georgia’s future should not be in the hands of either side, our party’s door remains open,” he affirmed.
Gakharia also clarified that the For Georgia party is preparing for all possible elections.
“We are preparing for any electoral scenario. We take responsibility to be transparent and to tell every Georgian citizen that a change of government in Georgia can only occur peacefully and through elections. We warn that any radical or revolutionary approach will only benefit Georgia’s adversaries. For those who oppose the current situation and believe it must change, our political door remains open,” he stated.
