Facial masks, self-isolation, and rapid antigen testing are the tools that should help us to overcome this crisis, the peak,  – Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated at today’s session of the Interagency Coordination Council, which was held via video conferencing.

The Prime Minister spoke about the importance of enhanced testing with rapid antigen-based tests.

“We should properly arrange home treatment, COVID hotels, and hospitalization.  These are our critical points that we need to go through, First – of course, reducing the hospitalization rate to 15%, unequivocally; Second – the introduction of therapeutic management elements in COVID hotels and having home treatment with primary health care. Facial masks, self-isolation, and rapid antigen testing are the tools that should help us to overcome this crisis”, – Prime Minister said.

As the head of the government states, the pinpoint restrictions should be revised in terms of effectiveness.

“The situation is getting worse in Europe as well, and the only criterion everywhere is not to overload the hospital system. The hospital system is now going through a line of victory or defeat, so Eka, please take this into account”, – PM addressed Minister of Health care Eka Tikaradze.
