“The sea of people who turned out today at this demonstration, and not at the official ceremonies, which were held shamefully, is yet another reminder that everyone must know: not only has the protest gone nowhere, but the legitimate anger will reach the point where the regime collapses. We have no other path to defending our independence,” declared one of the members of the Opposition Alliance, Giga Bokeria, outside the Parliament building.

According to Bokeria, this requires a peaceful protest of the greatest intensity, backed by the overwhelming majority, across the entire country.

“All of us, and those of us who are here, understand that this requires not merely one, two, or three large demonstrations, not merely a simple majority, but every one of us becoming a campaigner, so that there is a peaceful protest of the greatest intensity, backed by the overwhelming majority, across the whole country. That is the principal objective of this continuation. Defeating the regime requires this great majority to grow still further and to produce an ever more all-encompassing effect. That is the task of the Opposition Alliance, and we, every political unit that is a member of this alliance, begin fulfilling it this summer in every district and borough of Tbilisi, across the whole country,” declared Giga Bokeria.
