Supported by the National Wine Agency and organised by its contractor, the German marketing firm ff.k Public Relations, Konstantin Baum, a German Master of Wine and content creator, has visited Georgia, exploring wine cellars and producers across the Imereti region.

Konstantin Baum is the creator of one of the world’s most popular wine channels on YouTube, boasting over 200,000 subscribers and millions of views.

His visit to Georgia is set to boost the profile of Georgian wine among both industry professionals and consumers. Although Baum had visited Georgia several times before, this marked his first trip to the Imereti region.

“I had never been to Western Georgia before, and it was fascinating to discover these parts of the country and taste the wines directly within the terroir where they are crafted. It is wonderful to see just how diverse Georgia truly is. Thanks to the unique climatic conditions here, it is possible to produce entirely different styles of wine. The higher rainfall and distinct temperature variations lend the wines a remarkable freshness, a vibrant character, and a standout aromatic profile. It was also deeply interesting to visit cellars of varying scales and to appreciate the sheer potential that Imereti holds for the future,” Konstantin Baum noted.

Germany is Europe’s largest importer and consumer of wine. Driven by National Wine Agency initiatives and steady collaboration with local winemakers, Georgian wine exports continue to show a strong upward trend. In the period from January to June this year, nearly 784,000 litres of wine were exported from Georgia to Germany, marking a 22% increase compared to the same period last year.
