German Foreign Ministry: Ambassador Fischer’s recall for consultations should be a clear diplomatic signal for Georgian government
The Spokesperson of the German Foreign Ministry said that recalling German Ambassador to Georgia Peter Fischer for consultations should be “a very clear diplomatic signal for the Georgian government,” the German media reported.
According to the Spokesperson, there is a clear expectation from the Georgian government that personal attacks on the ambassador will be avoided.
The German Foreign Office noted that the conversation was held with the Georgian government.
“Now we are evaluating the Georgian leadership by its actions. We will draw further conclusions from this,” the Spokesperson said.
On October 19, 2025, the German Foreign Ministry announced the temporary recall of its Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations in Berlin.
On November 6, the German Foreign Ministry said the Ambassador returned to Georgia.
