German Ambassador meets politicians on hunger strike

Peter Fischer, German Ambassador to Georgia visited Elene Khoshtaria, the Droa party leader and Gedevan Popkhadze, former MP, on Rustaveli Avenue.

The Ambassador talked to both politicians who launched a hunger strike outside the parliament building.

Elene Khoshtaria described the meeting as an “act of solidarity.”

“This was a solidarity act in support of those who fight here. Germany and our Western partners in general realize that this is the place for freedom, European and Georgian ideas.

It is very important that he saw all the hunger strikers shortly. There were words of support, as well as the readiness that Germany and the European Union will work for the Georgian people so that this support is solid and continuous,” Elene Khoshtaria said.
