GeoStat: Kyrgyzstan is Georgia’s top export destination for January–May; Turkey remains largest importer
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), the share of the country’s top ten export partner nations accounted for 70.3 per cent of Georgia’s total exports between January and May 2026.
Kyrgyzstan holds the top spot among the three largest export markets with USD 355.2 million, followed by China with USD 327.5 million, and Azerbaijan with USD 269.3 million.
In terms of imports, the share of the top ten partner countries constituted 70.9 per cent of Georgia’s total imports during the January–May 2026 period. The top three source countries are Turkey with USD 1,162.0 million, Russia with USD 983.4 million, and China with USD 849.7 million.
Furthermore, the agency’s report highlights that among commodity groups, motor cars ranked first in the top ten export categories for January–May 2026, generating USD 734.6 million and accounting for 23.6 per cent of total exports. Petroleum and petroleum oils came second with USD 366.6 million, while precious metal ores and concentrates followed with USD 255.6 million.
The largest commodity group on the import side during the same period was also motor cars, with imports reaching USD 1,251.4 million, representing 17.1 per cent of total imports. Petroleum and petroleum oils ranked second at USD 635.5 million, followed by medicinal products in third place with USD 295.9 million.
