According to data from the National Statistics Office (GeoStat), in the third quarter of 2025, the volume of gross domestic product at current prices equalled 27,980.9 million lari, whilst real gross domestic product growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year amounted to 6.4 per cent. The percentage change in the GDP deflator was determined at 4.7 per cent in 3Q 2025.
According to GeoStat, in the third quarter of 2025, significant contributions to growth were made by such sectors as information and communication (21.1 per cent), education (20.7 per cent), financial and insurance activities (14.7 per cent), public administration and defence; compulsory social security (9.7 per cent), transport and storage (8.1 per cent), arts, entertainment and recreation (13.0 per cent), and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (3.0 per cent).
Meanwhile, declines were recorded in the following sectors: agriculture, forestry and fishing (-5.4 per cent), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-3.3 per cent), and mining and quarrying (-8.7 per cent).
Moreover, according to the agency’s report, in the sectoral structure of gross domestic product, the largest shares are held by trade (15.0 per cent) and manufacturing (9.4 per cent). The next positions are occupied by real estate activities (8.8 per cent), construction (8.4 per cent), information and communication (7.4 per cent), agriculture, forestry and fishing (7.3 per cent), transport and storage (6.2 per cent), public administration (6.0 per cent), and education (5.4 per cent).
