GeoStat: Georgia’s foreign trade turnover up 8.3% in January–August
Preliminary figures from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) indicate that Georgia’s external merchandise trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) reached USD 17,915.6 million in the first eight months of 2026. This marked an 8.3% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
GeoStat reported that domestic exports rose to USD 5,422.6 million, marking a sharp 22.1% year-on-year expansion, while imports grew by 3.3% to USD 12,493.0 million.
The negative trade balance for January–August 2026 stood at USD 7,070.5 million, accounting for 39.5% of total foreign trade turnover.
