Georgia’s President Kavelashvili meets with North Macedonia Assembly President
The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has held a meeting with Afrim Gashi, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.
According to the President’s Administration, the two leaders discussed the ongoing partnership between Georgia and North Macedonia, focusing on avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to prospects for deepening ties across key sectors, including the economy, trade, connectivity, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
The talks also touched on the vital importance of building closer links between the Black Sea region and the Western Balkans, specifically looking at the development of secure, reliable transit routes and economic corridors.
President Kavelashvili expressed his sincere gratitude to Gashi for North Macedonia’s steadfast and consistent support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its commitment to the non-recognition policy of the occupied regions. The President expressed his conviction that the fruitful cooperation between the two nations will continue to flourish.
