Georgia's PM meeting Prime Minister of Serbia

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Đuro Macut, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.

According to the Georgian Government’s press service, the parties noted the existing potential for deepening cooperation between the two countries across various sectors during the meeting. The opening of the Embassy of Serbia in Georgia and the establishment of direct air connections between the two countries were positively assessed. These developments are expected to strengthen trade and economic ties as well as people-to-people relations, while also encouraging tourism and cultural cooperation.

“The importance of the Georgia-Serbia Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was underscored as an effective format for further deepening sectoral relations. The decision to launch negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries was also highlighted as an important step toward further stimulating economic cooperation,” the press release reads.

The meeting between the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Serbia took place in Dubai within the framework of the World Governments Summit (WGS).
