Georgia's PM Kobakhidze to deliver annual address to Parliament on June 26

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, will deliver his annual address to Parliament on June 26. The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, announced the schedule during today’s session of the Parliamentary Bureau.

Pursuant to parliamentary rules of procedure, the Prime Minister is mandated to deliver an annual report to Parliament within the final month of the spring plenary session, detailing progress achieved in implementing the government programme.

The Georgian Parliament’s press service reported that Shalva Papuashvili explained that Parliament will devote the final plenary week of the spring session to reviewing annual reports from various state bodies.

The upcoming parliamentary schedule is as follows:

June 23 (Plenary Session): MPs will hear the report of the Public Defender (Ombudsman).
June 24: The report of the Prosecutor General will be presented.
June 25: The report of the Auditor General will be reviewed.

During this sitting week, Members of Parliament are also scheduled to debate draft legislation and elect new members to the Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).

At today’s Bureau meeting, leading and mandatory committees were assigned to review new legislative initiatives, and routine organisational matters were addressed.
