Georgia’s Parliament Speaker meets with Moldovan delegation
Parliamentary Speaker Shalva Papuashvili received a delegation from Moldova’s parliament, led by Bogdan Țîrdea, head of the Friendship Group with Georgia, along with members of the group.
The delegation comprises representatives from three opposition factions of the Moldovan Parliament: the Socialists, the Alternative faction, and the Democracy at Home parliamentary group.
During the meeting, it was underscored that dialogue and mutual support between Georgia and Moldova are of vital importance, amid the complex geopolitical landscape.
The Moldovan representatives highlighted that, despite turbulent and tense international circumstances, the Georgian government has consistently pursued policies aimed at safeguarding the country’s national interests and core values.
Both sides emphasised the importance of deepening people-to-people connections, especially within the tourism sector, which is further supported by direct flights connecting the two countries.
Shalva Papuashvili outlined the legislative initiatives of the Georgian Parliament and the progress achieved thus far. He reaffirmed his willingness to maintain an open and ongoing dialogue with Moldova.
Isko Daseni, Head of the Georgia-Moldova Friendship Group, also attended the meeting.
