Georgia's First Lady joins Turkiye's First Lady Emine Erdoğan's Global Commitment to Zero Waste initiative
Georgia’s First Lady, Tamar Bagrationi, met with Turkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan and joined her initiative, the Global Commitment to Zero Waste.
During an official visit to the Republic of Turkiye, Georgia’s First Lady was hosted by Turkiye’s First Lady, Emine Erdoğan, at the Presidential Palace, where they held a private meeting.
Tamar Bagrationi signed Emine Erdoğan’s initiative entitled Global Commitment to Zero Waste. This declaration was created in 2017 with the aim of environmental protection, waste minimisation and promoting recycling processes. Its main objective is to raise public awareness about waste management.
Over the years, this declaration has developed into a global project signed by 15,900 representatives from 112 countries. Following Tamar Bagrationi’s signature, Georgia has also joined this significant project.
According to the Georgian presidential administration, after the meeting, Emine Erdoğan gave Georgia’s First Lady a tour of the library located within the Presidential residence of the Republic of Turkiye.
