Deputy Justice Minister Lana Morgoshia and Head of the Special Penitentiary Service Giorgi Pataridze hosted Georgia’s First Lady Tamar Bagrationi and accompanying guests at the #5 Women’s Prison.
According to the Special Penitentiary Service, the First Lady got acquainted with the spaces created for the resocialization and rehabilitation of convicts.
“Tamar Bagrationi visited the sewing workshop where convicts are employed. The women were supplied with appropriate materials and fabrics to design and make various types of clothing, including festive ones.
At the initiative of the First Lady, sewing, needlework and other master classes have been planned at the prison. The female convicts will use the fabrics to sew stage costumes for the Kakhaberi and Khanumas musical group.
At the end of the visit, Kakhaberi and Khanumas held a concert for the convicts and visitors.
