Georgia's Ambassador: President's visit to Azerbaijan to address regional security, cultural-humanitarian, and economic matters
“During President Mikheil Kavelashvili’s visit to Azerbaijan, discussions will focus on regional security, cultural-humanitarian issues, and economic matters,” announced Zurab Pataradze, Georgia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador expressed confidence that the Georgian President’s visit would further enhance and strengthen the relationship between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
“Today, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili will commence his official visit to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is not only a strategic partner but also a close friend of Georgia. The two-day program will include both protocol and cultural activities. We are honoured to host Mr. President at our embassy, where he will meet with the Diplomatic Corps. We will update the President on the implementation of mandates from the Georgian government, the dynamics of our bilateral relations, and further plans.
Significant meetings are scheduled for today. The President will engage in high-level discussions with Azerbaijani government officials, including a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, and the Chairperson of the Milli Mejlis, Sahiba Gafarova.
The parties will review a megaproject related to renewable energy, enhancing transit potential, attracting investments, increasing trade turnover, and other details that will elevate our relations. I firmly believe that the Georgian President’s visit will further intensify and deepen Georgia-Azerbaijan relations,” the Ambassador stated.
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili is set to make his first official visit to Azerbaijan on April 15-16.
