Georgian Vice Prime Minister meets US President's Special Assistant

Levan Davitashvili, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development met Andrew L. Peek, the US President’s Special Assistant and Senior Director in the National Security Council for European Affairs, at the White House during his visit to the United States.

“The meeting in the White House was of special significance and was comprehensive during my US visit. It was very important to speak to the new administration about the priorities that the Georgian Dream government has, and that are fully in line with the visions of President Trump. I believe there is close coincidence in positions and there are many prospects for cooperation. We spoke about opportunities that our two countries may have under the new administration,” said Levan Davitashvili following the meeting.

According to the Georgian Vice PM, it is regrettable that strategic partnership between Georgia and the US formally halted during the previous administration.

“There is a firm position in the leadership of the new administration that this strategic cooperation should not only continue but also deepen and move to a qualitatively new stage, which will be beneficial for both countries,” he concluded.

Deputy Minister of Economy Gennady Arveladze attended the meeting.
