Georgian Railways Director: Turkmenistan Railways is key partner; cargo volumes expected to rise significantly this year

“We anticipate further growth in cargo turnover from Turkmenistan,” stated Lasha Abashidze, Director General of Georgian Railways.

According to Abashidze, a positive momentum is currently evident in the cargo exchange between the two nations.

“Turkmenistan Railways is a vital partner for us. This year, we have achieved excellent results, with cargo volume consistently increasing. We believe there is considerable potential to improve these figures even further. We expect cargo turnover with Turkmenistan to rise significantly over the course of this year,” he affirmed.

Lasha Abashidze, together with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, took part in official discussions in Turkmenistan and attended the session of the Georgia-Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
