Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
According to the government administration, the discussion centred on the productive collaboration between Georgia and the Council of Europe.
Irakli Kobakhidze reaffirmed the Georgian government’s commitment to dialogue and constructive cooperation, both bilaterally and within multilateral frameworks.
The Georgian side expressed concern over the increasing tendency to use international mechanisms for politically motivated purposes and expressed hope that this practice would be reconsidered.
The meeting also emphasised the Georgian government’s dedication to safeguarding fundamental freedoms, advancing democratic reforms, and upholding the rule of law.
Attending the meeting were Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, alongside Head of the Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholiani.
