Georgian Para-Judokas secure two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at European Championships in Tbilisi #1TVSPORT

The European Para-Judo Championships commenced in Tbilisi today, bringing together around 200 para-athletes from 20 countries to compete in the prestigious tournament.

The Georgian Para-Judo National Team is represented at Tbilisi 2025 by fourteen para-judokas.

On the first day of the competition, Saba Baghdavadze (-81kg) secured a bronze medal in the J1 category, which is designated for the blind athletes.

In the final held in the J2 category, for the visually impaired, Georgian judokas faced each other: Bachuki Shelia competed against Levan Gugava in the -81kg weight class, with Gugava emerging victorious.

Giorgi Kaldani claimed the gold medal in the -70kg category, while Zurab Zurabiani earned a third place.

The European Para-Judo Championships are organised by the Georgian Paralympic Committee, with support from the Georgian Ministry of Sports and Tbilisi City Hall.
