Georgian Interior Minister meets with Azerbaijani counterpart

Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, accompanied by a delegation. Vilayat Eyvazov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, hosted the Georgian delegation.

During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between Sulkhan Tamazashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart. Both officials discussed opportunities for enhanced cooperation between their respective law enforcement agencies. Tamazashvili highlighted the importance of close police collaboration with Azerbaijan and affirmed that efforts will continue to strengthen the existing partnership. The discussion also focused on strengthening connections between police units in neighbouring regions of both countries, with both sides expressing eagerness to pursue joint initiatives.

In his remarks, Tamazashvili expressed gratitude to Eyvazov for the warm reception and a productive meeting. Eyvazov reciprocated, acknowledging the effective cooperation established over the years and emphasising that Azerbaijan remains keen to intensify collaboration with Georgian colleagues across various areas.

At the end of their discussions, the Georgian Internal Affairs Minister invited his Azerbaijani counterpart to visit Georgia in return.
