Georgian ID, biometric passport holders to cross borders easier

Georgian citizens with ID cards and biometric passports find it easier to pass through border checks. According to the Public Service Development Agency, the country’s certifications, in conformity with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), enhance the reliability of Georgia-issued travel credentials.

The Public Services Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice has handed over the Basic Signatory Certificates of the Country (CSCA) to the ICAO, guaranteeing the validity of biometric passports and electronic identity cards.

“Compliance of the country’s main signatory certificates with ICAO standards significantly increases the reliability of Georgian travel documents. As a result, Georgians with an ID card and a biometric passport will pass through border control more quickly,” the Agency stated.
