Georgian gov’t expects $400-500 million investment in Tbilisi, Batumi airports

The Georgian government anticipates an investment of $400-500 million in Tbilisi and Batumi airports, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced at today’s Cabinet meeting.

“Tbilisi International Airport “cannot meet international standards. We seek a modern, strong, sound infrastructure with good terminals, business aviation. We want to build new terminals and we have already started active work in this regard,” Garibashvili noted.

The PM continued by stating that the government has further plans for Kutaisi International Airport, where “an additional cargo direction may be developed, and overall, we will get serious investments.”
