Georgian FM meets Israeli Knesset Speaker

Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili met Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Amir Ohana, within the framework of her official visit to Israel.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on the historical ties between the Georgian and Jewish peoples and the friendly relations between the two countries.

The meeting touched upon cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries and the important role of the parliamentary dimension in further strengthening bilateral relations, emphasising the prolific activities of Georgia-Israel parliamentary friendship groups in this context.

The FM and the Knesset Speaker underscored the significance of deepening trade-economic and people-to-people ties and the security environment in the region, the Ministry said.
