Georgian Economy Minister holds meetings in U.S.

Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili is paying a working visit to the U.S. The Minister will hold high-level meetings for intensification of Georgia-US economic cooperation.

According to the Georgian Ambassador to the U.S. David Zalkaliani, Levan Davitashvili met U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Scott Nathan, Vice-President of EXIM Bank Judith DelZoppo Pryor.

The development of a wide range of branches, that will contribute to deepening bilateral business and economic ties, was discussed during the meetings.

Georgian side stressed that US-Georgia free trade agreement would benefit both political and economic interests as well as Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspiration and trade diversification needs.

Georgian Vice Prime Minister is scheduled to hold meetings in the US Congress and representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the U.S. state and private sector.
