Georgian Defense Forces personnel are actively engaged in ongoing search and rescue efforts at five locations in the Shovi landslide-hit area.
The Defense Forces mobilized heavy equipment, and erected pedestrian bridges on the landslide surface, moving them to new sites as needed. Metal detectors were also employed during the search to help find metal objects in the landslide mass.
The military personnel from the Eastern and Western Commands, combat engineering units, the Logistics Support Command, and the 102nd Territorial Defense Battalion of the 10th Cadre Brigade of the National Guard are involved in the efforts.
