Seventeen Georgian citizens placed in a temporary Deportation Facility in Israel departed for their homeland, Georgia, the Georgian Embassy in Israel reported.

According to the Embassy, the Georgian government, in coordination with relevant services ensured their safe and timely return to Georgia.

The Embassy continues to work in emergency mode due to current tensions in Israel and keeps a hotline active.

Georgian citizens can leave Israel by land through the Israeli-Jordan border and TABA – Israel-Egypt checkpoint. They should present their Georgian passports.

“Against the backdrop of recent events, about 1000 citizens of Georgia have left Israel by land. The embassy assisted over 500 citizens facing different problems,” the Embassy said.
