Georgian Amelioration develops irrigation water supply schedule

General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, Gigla Tamazashvili, spoke about the irrigation water supply schedule, which aims at an uninterrupted and timely supply.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Tamazashvili noted that the mechanism allows the company to plan resources in advance and serve farmers efficiently.

“At the initial stage of the water use schedule agreement, the water user does not incur any financial obligations. The company is obliged to provide the farmer with the required amount of irrigation water at the desired location and period, while the water user will pay the service fee after the completion of the 15-day irrigation cycle, in the following month, only when the irrigation operation is carried out,” Tamazashvili said.

Gigla Tamazashvili further stated that the farmers can be flexible and change or cancel the agreed schedule 20 days before the service is supplied.

He remarked that to ensure uninterrupted access to irrigation water, farmers must contact the Georgian Amelioration service centres promptly and sign the appropriate service agreements.
