Georgian Ambassador to US: Georgia stands as closest ally of US in region
We are faced with significant challenges in terms of security, economy, and geopolitics, and Georgia stands as the closest ally of the USA in the region, stated Davit Zalkaliani, the Georgian Ambassador to the USA.
Zalkaliani emphasized that the United States of America is Georgia’s main strategic partner, and their collaboration has strengthened over more than 30 years.
“We play a crucial role in the region concerning matters of interest to the United States of America. I particularly emphasize Georgia’s role in the South Caucasus and the Prime Minister’s active mediation efforts in establishing long-term peace in the region. Our American partners highly appreciate these contributions, along with our engagements addressing significant geopolitical challenges, previously related to Afghanistan and now focused on cooperation against common challenges. I am confident that the upcoming year will be outstanding, featuring interesting and active contacts with our American partners. I take this opportunity to express my special gratitude to my American colleague, the new US ambassador, who has injected new momentum and additional positive signs into the US-Georgia relationship,” he said.
