Georgian Ambassador to U.S.: Open dialogue key to resolving misunderstandings with U.S.
Misunderstandings can arise between strategic partners, but they necessitate sincere dialogue and assessment, stated Georgian Ambassador to the USA, Davit Zalkaliani when discussing U.S.-Georgia relations.
The ambassador emphasized that Georgia is prepared for conversations to resolve these issues, expressing confidence that misunderstandings can be cleared up.
“I will have an open discussion with our American friends. While misunderstandings happen, they require frank dialogue and evaluation to prevent future occurrences. Our long-term relationship with America, which spans over 32 years, has always focused on deepening ties. This commitment is illustrated by the sacrifices our military has made to support American soldiers in international missions. This foundation connects us politically, militarily, and economically, and these are the topics we need to address.
When misunderstandings arise, appropriate communication is essential. I want to emphasize that the Georgian side is ready for engagement. I spoke with our American partners today and will continue these discussions in Washington tomorrow to address all misunderstandings. This situation is difficult for everyone involved, and I understand our partners’ concerns. We share in that sadness. Continuous dialogue is crucial, and I am confident we can overcome these misunderstandings and elevate the U.S.-Georgia strategic partnership to where it deserves to be,” Zalkaliani concluded.
