Georgian Ambassador to NATO: Georgia's ultimate goal is to join NATO
The Ambassador of Georgia to NATO, Viktor Dolidze, emphasized that Georgia’s final goal is to join NATO. He stated that Georgia possesses all the essential tools for NATO membership and highlighted that this has been reiterated at high-level meetings.
“The ultimate goal of Georgia is to join NATO, and the specific format, whether it involves a Membership Action Plan (MAP) or not, is considered less essential. Georgia is confident in its readiness for NATO membership, possessing all the necessary tools for integration into the alliance. This perspective has been reaffirmed in high-level meetings between NATO members and Georgian representatives.
Regarding the Washington Summit, the upcoming year is viewed as ambitious and realistic. The granting candidacy status is seen as opening pathways for both European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Georgia has significant plans in this regard, anticipating visits from high-level delegations to Washington, Brussels, and Tbilisi. Cooperation mechanisms will not only be practical but will also involve substantive content, allowing for steps forward in both European Union and NATO partnerships,” he stated.
