Georgian Ambassador to Israel received no reports on injured, missing, or killed Georgian citizens
The Embassy has not yet received any reports on injured, missing, or killed Georgian citizens, said Lasha Zhvania, Georgian Ambassador to Israel.
According to the Ambassador, two Georgian Jews died following the Hamas attack. He further reported that the Israeli Armed Forces took control over settlements where terrorists were observed, while identities and number of those missing are being verified.
“Two Georgian Jews have died so far. Buzudashvili, a police officer who heroically fulfilled his duty, and another young man, Avi Abraham Kubelashvili, died during the clashes. We share the tragedy and pain of our brothers and sisters and stand with them in this time of distress and war,” Lasha Zhvania said.
Hamas has launched more than 5,000 rockets from Gaza at Israel and kidnapped the bodies of Israeli soldiers killed in clashes on the border on October 7, the Islamist group’s military wing said, as Israel declared a state of war alert. At least 700 people were killed and over 2 315 injured in the shelling.
The Georgian Embassy in Israel launched a hotline for Georgian citizens.
