Georgia to host Interpol's European Regional Conference in 2027

At the 53rd Interpol European Regional Conference, currently underway in Toledo, Spain, member countries voted by a majority to hold the next, 54th regional conference in Georgia in 2027. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has released this information.

According to the Ministry, the decision highlights the strong and successful cooperation between Georgia’s law enforcement agencies and their European partners. It also reflects Georgia’s expanding role and increasing prominence in international police collaboration.

The Georgian delegation to the conference included Deputy Director of the Central Criminal Police Department Irakli Dondoladze; Head of Georgia’s Interpol National Central Bureau, Giorgi Bolotashvili; and Shalva Shubladze, Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Attaché to the Kingdom of Spain.

Before the vote, representatives of the Georgian delegation presented conference participants with an overview of significant achievements by the Georgian Police in combating organised crime and drug-related offences, successful cooperation in international operations, and the modern capabilities of the country’s law enforcement system.

The 2027 conference, to be held in Georgia, will be attended by representatives of Interpol’s General Secretariat and Executive Committee, as well as senior officials from law enforcement agencies across the European region.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that hosting an international policing event of this scale will greatly strengthen partnerships within the law enforcement community.
