Georgia observes national mourning day for victims of Batumi building collapse

Georgia is observing a day of national mourning to remember the victims of a residential building collapse in  Batumi, Georgia.

Today flags on all government buildings in Georgia are flying at half-mast.

A total of nine people, including three minors, have died following the collapse on October 8.

Three people have been charged on October 10 with violating safety rules during maintenance and construction works that resulted in deaths and severe consequences, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia said.
