“In our capacity as the chairing nation, we are hosting the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation. All delegations are arriving today, paving the way for us to host a major international event tomorrow,” the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, announced.

According to the Speaker, the assembly has been exceptionally active throughout Georgia’s chairmanship.

“We are hosting this assembly in our capacity as the chairing country. Today we held a bureau meeting, and we will be chairing an upcoming committee meeting. We have finalised the organisational decisions regarding the assembly. Tomorrow, the main assembly will take place, with ten member states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation participating.

A number of the delegations have already arrived, and the remainder will land today, ensuring we are ready to host this major international event tomorrow. Significantly, the assembly has been highly active during our chairmanship; indeed, I have personally had the privilege to participate in several events on behalf of the assembly in my role as its President.

Through this, we have effectively revitalised and enriched the assembly’s work. At the conclusion of this next phase, we will officially hand over the presidency of the assembly to Greece,” Papuashvili stated.
