Georgia hands over PABSEC presidency to Greece following regional summit

During the 67th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, officially handed over the PABSEC presidency to the Hellenic Parliament, concluding Georgia’s six-month tenure at the helm.

According to the Georgian Parliament’s press office, the 67th Plenary Session is currently being hosted in the village of Mepiskalaki, Kaspi Municipality.

Sophia Voultepsi, the head of the permanent delegation of the Hellenic Parliament, expressed her gratitude to Speaker Papuashvili for his leadership and dedication during his term as PABSEC President. On behalf of the organisation, she presented him with the PABSEC Medal of Honour.

The high-level session opened with welcoming addresses from key regional figures, including the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili; the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi; Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khatuna Totladze; the Head of the Permanent Georgian Delegation to PABSEC, Irakli Mezurnishvili; and the Deputy Secretary General of PABSEC, Borys Kolesnychenko.
