Georgia 'extremely' values £5 mln funding from UK, PM Garibashvili says

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said Georgia extremely values the £5 mln funding from the country’s strategic partner, the UK, to strengthen Georgia’s resilience to external threats in cyber space by contributing to both Georgian and European security.

At the NATO Madrid Summit yesterday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the UK would allocate Georgia more than £5 million of additional funding to protect against Russian cyber attacks.

As part of the Madrid visit, PM Garibashvili met with British colleague to review the strategic partnership and friendly relations between Georgia and the United Kingdom.

Georgian Foreign Ministry claims “Georgia-UK strategic partnership and European security strengthens further through additional £5m UK support in building Georgia’s security and resilience to external threats in cyber security.”
