Georgia assumed the chairmanship of the European Audiovisual Observatory in 2024, and as part of this role, it will host the public media conference organized by the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom).
ComCom member Ivane Makharadze represents Georgia on the Executive Board of the Observatory.
“It is a great honour for us to assume the chairmanship of the Observatory from our Portuguese colleagues. We are ready to contribute valuably to the observatory work in 2024 and expect close cooperation with our partners,” Ivane Makharadze expressed.
The Executive Director of the Observatory, Susanne Nikoltchev, welcomed Georgia’s chairmanship, describing the country as ‘dynamic’.
The European Audiovisual Observatory, operating under the Council of Europe since 1992, analyzes facts and data in film, broadcasting, and the audiovisual industry in Europe. Georgia has been a member since 2016.
Georgia will host the Observatory’s annual conference on June 12.
