Georgia and Serbia have signed an agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding air traffic, the Civil Aviation Agency announced.
Civil Aviation Agency Director Givi Davitashvili and Mirjana Cizmarov, Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, inked the document. Aleksandra Sofronijević, Serbian Minister for Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure, attended the signing ceremony.
The agreement is founded on liberal principles, allowing airlines to determine the frequency and capacity of their flights independently.
“The parties agreed to continue active cooperation within their respective competencies, focusing on the intensive development of new air routes,” the Agency stated.
Additionally, Air Serbia has submitted an application to the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency to launch regular flights between Belgrade and Tbilisi starting June 15.
