Levan Machavariani, the First Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction and head of the Tbilisi election headquarters, has expressed his gratitude to the ‘genuine Georgian fellows’ who were at the election headquarters on Melikishvili Avenue and managed to restrain themselves during recent tense events.

Referring to the incidents at the headquarters, Machavariani stated that the opposition is intent on causing unrest ahead of the elections.

“They want chaos to erupt before the vote, because they are already doomed. We continue working at the headquarters and are receiving a large number of citizens. Many supporters come to us daily. I want to thank those brave, genuine Georgian fellows at the headquarters yesterday, men whose hands were shaking, who wanted to respond, but chose to hold back. That was a truly Georgian, dignified act. Of course, it cost us a lot of effort, as we promised our supporters.

I would remind everyone that it is extremely complicated for Georgians to bear such insults, but I once again urge our supporters and party members to exercise maximum restraint. Responding to provocations only plays into their hands; otherwise, they are doomed in these elections. These are typical followers of pseudo-liberal fascism in Georgia, who lack culture, morality, and any real values,” Machavariani said.
