GD’s Machavariani: Georgia to join EU with dignity, upholding traditions, culture, and identity
Levan Machavariani, Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, has stated that the “collective National Movement,” along with certain affiliated non-governmental organizations, has made concerted efforts to undermine Georgia over the past 13 years. Nevertheless, he asserts that the nation remains resilient and continues to progress.
“The country faces threats from those who wish to see it weakened, yet we stand firm and achieve considerable success. According to the European Union’s stated position, its enlargement is projected for 2030. By that time, Georgia will be the most prepared country among all candidate nations. We are already ahead of other candidates in key indicators, and the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have forecasted that the unprecedented economic growth we have experienced in recent years will continue until 2030. Most likely, Georgia will ascend to the ranks of high-income countries.
As a result, we will be fully prepared and will join the European Union with dignity, proudly representing our traditions, culture, and identity. We must maintain our sovereignty and identity—principles the Georgian Dream has upheld for years. We will always be the guarantors of these values within our country,” stated Levan Machavariani.
