GD's constitutional lawsuit to cover up to ten political parties

“It is technical work, and given the numerous violations, there is a considerable amount of work to be done, which is why it took several days to complete the drafting of the lawsuit. The constitutional lawsuit will be published by the end of the week,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Constitutional Court of Georgia will decide on the constitutional lawsuit prepared based on the parliamentary investigation commission’s findings. The Court will address all issues comprehensively.

“I will not jump to conclusions before the lawsuit is made public. Once it is published, you will see exactly which parties are included. The Speaker of Parliament has stated that the lawsuit will be submitted to the Constitutional Court by the end of the week. This is a technical process; they are dealing with numerous violations, which require a considerable amount of work and documentation. That’s why it has taken several days to complete the drafting of the lawsuit.

It may involve more than twenty parties, but at present, we are considering around ten. The lawsuit will be published by the end of the week, and the full list of involved parties will be made available then, so you will find out everything at that point.

Once again, I can cite the example of Bacho Akhalaia [former minister of internal affairs], who may not have been a party member and belonged to the law enforcement structures, but everyone knows that he is an integral part of the United National Movement. The details will be clarified in the lawsuit. The decision rests with the Constitutional Court, which considers all issues thoroughly,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
